Scientific Name: Dasyornis brachypterus

Also known as Dasyornis brachypterus, this species belongs to the family of birds and is endemic to Australia. They prefer temperate forests, temperate grassland and temperate shrubland for their habitat.

One of the best feature of Eastern Bristlebird is that they mark their territory by singing a loud melodic song. In 1980, it is believed that an isolated colony of Eastern Bristlebirds are found in in southeastern Queensland. However as of today, this species are threatened to loss their habitat due to forest fires and other agricultural purposes.

A conservation program has been establish in Australia under the Australian Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.
